Big Brands are in this together

I had heard rumblings of this a few weeks ago but now it has been confirmed. Some of Britain's biggest companies including British Gas, Marks and Spencer, Tesco and O2 have joined forces with The Climate Group with the aim of making it easier for the Great British public to become more eco-aware.
Under the We're in this Together initiative, the company's have said that they will introduce customer-friendly services and products to help people cut down on their carbon use and become more green. Sky, another founding company has already followed this through by introducing a service that will turn off your Sky box overnight when it's not in use.

This is a really interesting initiative and one, that could prove to be very powerful. Although it has government backing, the companies involved will need to work hard to prove to the skeptic green lobby that it's more than just a talking shop and that instead it will become a forum to drive real change across British Business. Only time will tell if it can do that but the fact that so many high profile names are involved from the start certainly makes it one worth watching.
