Shiny Media, the UK's only real blog network has scored a major coup- securing $4.5m in investment. Shiny runs a number of different lifestyle blogs on subjects as wide ranging as technology, premiership football and fashion and has started to attract major blue chip advertisers. The investment, which comes from Bright Station Ventures, part of technology entrepreneur Dan Wagner's empire will be used to 'commercialise' Shiny. The blogosphere is regarding this investment as a major development in the UK Web 2.0 economy and is yet more proof of just how valuable blogs can be.
